Aplicação Social do Darwinismo

Um comentador afirma:

Sim, a evolução está certa, os teus raciocínios circulares é que estão errados. Já afirmei, e reafirmei, que a teoria da evolução NÃO TEM APLICAÇÃO SOCIAL!, apenas biológica.

Será isto assim mesmo? Se é mesmo assim, então como é que se explica o fenómeno recorrente de evolucionistas usarem a sua interpretação das evidências como fundamento para decisões morais?

Neste artigo publicado na New Scientist, Rowan Hooper ataca o Papa Bento 16 por este afirmar que é tão importante salvar as florestas tropicais de destruição como é importante proteger a humanidade do comportamento homossexual e bissexual. A revista usa então a sua interpretação da evolução como forma de refutar as palavras do Papa.

Se isto não é usar o darwinismo como "corrector social", então não sei o que é.

O darwinismo sempre foi usado como arma social e afirmar-se o contrário é ingenuidade. Desde Darwin, passando pela família Huxley (especialmente Thomas e Julian), não esquecendo Dawkins e os seus discípulos, a teoria da evolução sempre foi usada como uma ideologia moral alternativa ao Cristianismo Bíblico.

Curiosamente, a noção de que a teoria da evolução tem sido usada como uma ideologia/religião também é afirmada por evolucionistas famosos como Michael Ruse. Ele afirma:

A evolução é promovida pelos seus aderentes como algo mais do que ciência.

A evolução é promovida como uma ideologia, uma religião secular - uma alternativa ao Cristianismo, com propósito e moralidade.

Eu sou um ardente evolucionista e um ex-Cristão, mas tenho que admitir que esta queixa - e o sr [Duane] Gish é um dos que a faz - os literalistas estão correctos. A evolução é uma religião.

Isto foi assim em relação à evolução no princípio e é assim em relação à evolução hoje.

CS Lewis: O Ateu Não Tem Justificação Para Usar o Argumento do Mal

C.S. Lewis:

O meu argumento contra Deus era o de o universo parecia cruel e injusto. Mas donde é que eu aprendi os conceitos do justo e injusto? Um homem não qualifica uma linha torta de "torta" a não ser que ele tenha uma ideia do que uma linha recta é. Com o quê é que eu comparava o universo quando o qualifiquei de "injusto"?

Se tudo o que aconteceu desde o princípio foi mau e injusto, como é que eu, que supostamente faço parte do espectáculo, me encontro da posição de rebeldia contra a situação? Um homem sente-se molhado quando cai na água porque ele não é um animal aquático: um peixe nunca se sentiria molhado.

Claro que eu poderia ter abandonado a minha ideia de justiça afirmando que ela apenas era uma ideia pessoal minha. Mas se eu fizesse isso, então o argumento contra Deus tinha um colapso uma vez que o argumento depende do facto de o mundo ser de facto injusto e não simplesmente que ele não agradava as minhas preferências pessoais.

Portanto, durante o acto em tentar provar que Deus não existe - por outras palavras, que a realidade era sem sentido - vi que era forçado a assumir que uma parte da realidade - nomeadamente, a minha concepção de justiça - fazia sentido. Consequentemente o ateísmo revela-se muito simples.

Se o universo não tem propósito nós nunca haveríamos de saber que ele não tem propósito ou sentido: do mesmo modo que se não existisse luz no universo, e portanto não houvesse criaturas com olhos, nós nunca saberíamos que ele estava escuro.

A palavra "escuro" não faria sentido.

O que o C.S. Lewis implicitamente diz é que quando o ateu usa o argumento do "mal", ele está a assumir coisas que contradizem o que ele tenta provar com esse mesmo argumento do "mal". Ele está a revelar ter conhecimento que vai para além do mundo em que nós vivemos.

O argumento do mal assume muitas coisas, uma delas sendo que o ser humano não foi feito para viver com o que o ateu qualifica de "mal". Mas donde vem essa crença? Se a morte, violência, assassinatos, violações, pedofilia, terremotos e outras coisas mais sempre fizeram parte da existência humana, donde é que vem o conhecimento de que essas coisas são más? Com o quê é que o ateu as compara? Existe algum padrão absoluto na base da qual o ateu qualifica comportamentos e eventos? Houve alguma altura em que o homem não sofreu? Será que há uma versão ateísta do Jardim do Éden?

Claro que a razão pela qual o ateu sabe que isto está errado é a Natureza de Deus em si. A Bíblia diz-nos que o ateu sabe que Deus existe (Romanos 1) e que conscientemente rejeita o que Deus lhe diz como forma de manter a sua moralidade intacta. A forma através da qual nós podemos ver que o ateu sabe que Deus existe é a sua constante alusão ao "problema do mal". Se Deus não existe, não há Padrão Absoluto que sirva de modelo comportamental, e como tal o ateu não tem argumento nem forma de classificar situações e comportamentos como "maus".

Mas como o ateu sabe que Deus existe, então ele apela a uma Lei Moral Absoluta, embora se tente convencer de que o Criador dessa Mesma Lei não existe.

Isto nem deveria ser polémico, mas os ateus fazem malabarismo semântico com a palavra "informação" como forma de evitar o elefante na sala:
1. Todos os sistemas de informação conhecidos pelo homem tem uma causa inteligente.
2. A vida é composta por sistemas de informação (algorítmo/programas)
3. A vida tem uma Causa Inteligente.

Darwin Estava Errado Mas Foi Melhor Assim

Reparem que, tal como o post anterior, este darwinista não parece preocupado que falsas evidências tenham sido usadas contra a Criação Bíblica. O que interessa, segundo este darwinista, é derrotar os criacionistas, nem que para isso se tenha que recorrer a mentiras
